WIP Wednesday – February 5th

I actually have been a crocheting fiend the past couple of weeks. Here is what I’ve been working on. My friend’s son is turning two in a few weeks and I wanted to give him some play food to go with the kitchen he got for Christmas.

We have the beginnings of toast with pats of butter, fried eggs, bread, cheese slices, tomato, in progress french fries, eggs, cinnamon roll, chocolate sandwich cookies, bacon, partially done bun, more eggs and bacon, lettuce, and sausages

My kids loved playing with toy food when they were little and I’m having so much fun working on this stuff. I tweaked the cinnamon roll and the tomato pattern a wee bit and have ideas for a few other things I want to try out.

The patterns come from this little Crochet Toy Food booklet I bought from Annie’s Crafts (Annie’s Attic) many, many years ago. It’s been out of print for years, but if you go looking on ETSY you’ll find plenty of designers with play food patterns for sale.

Look at all of this fun stuff! I’m also working on pieces for my niece’s birthday in August. I need to make sure I have at least two of everything made so my nephew can play too.
