I’ve only been blogging for a year now. I started last October and then the next thing you know it was NaBloPoMo. There was no way I was ready for a blog post a day at that time. Actually, I’m still not sure if I am, but thought it would be a nice exercise.
My blog has always been about different things going on around me, things I enjoy doing, etc. So the question I asked myself is should I try and participate in National Blog Posting Month? Will it make me dread my blog? Will I feel like I am being forced to write something even if I don’t think I have anything to say?
I think in the long run it will be a great exercise and will help me break through some of the barriers I have placed over myself regarding what I should post and what I shouldn’t. I have a tendency to censor myself, so I limit my posts to innocuous bits of fluff, even if that is what I enjoy. Sometimes I really would love to let my opinion on a subject be known, but the truth is, I don’t want to have to deal with the backlash, but I think I’ll save that for another post, another day.
So I’m going to take a deep breath and give it a shot. I’ve got nothing to lose right?
Hey, I think it is a great idea. I did it a couple of years ago, and it did help to make my posts more creative I think. I have been noticing that already this year–it makes me think about what I am going to post each day ahead of time.
