CSA Box – August 15, 2013

Here’s what we have this week from Acme Farms & Kitchen.

Spinach, basil, oregano, green peppers, onion, garlic, fresh hoagie rolls, fresh pizza dough, salad greens, leek, cherry tomatoes, eggs, zucchini, fresh bucatini pasta, feta and gouda cheese and beef stir fry

Spinach, basil, oregano, green peppers, onion, garlic, fresh hoagie rolls, fresh pizza dough, salad greens, leek, cherry tomatoes, eggs, zucchini, fresh bucatini pasta, feta and gouda cheese and beef stir fry

The recipes this week are:

Cheesesteaks served with a green salad
Pizza with Spinach Basil Pesto and Oven Dried Cherry Tomatoes
Buccatini with Summer Squash

I decided to make the cheesesteaks tonight so I could use the fresh hoagie rolls. Can I just say they were fantastic. The bread was nice and chewy. You know what I mean, that perfect blend of fresh bread on the inside and a crust that you need to put an extra bit of bite to it.  I’ll share the recipe and pictures later. Tomorrow I had better use the pizza dough. The last time we had pizza dough I didn’t use it quickly enough and it was spoiled. Not this time. I’m thinking I want to actually do a Pizza Margherita. Just need to get some fresh mozzarella.
