Reconstructed Thread Coaster

Some many years ago I made a few thread coasters that I just love.  Every now and again I’ve wanted to make a few more as the others have gone missing over the years or I’ve wanted to give as gifts.  But somewhere in the many moves I’ve made I lost the pattern to my favorite coaster. It was a great Leisure Arts booklet with a bunch of different coaster patterns. I finally decided that I would reconstruct it from the one and only coaster I have left and it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be.

Funny how you’ll think something is too difficult or you won’t be able to do it until you finally sit down and just do it. Then you are asking yourself why you didn’t do this sooner and it wasn’t nearly as hard as you were making it out to be. A lesson I’ve learned many times over but still fail at.

So here it is, my reconstructed thread coaster. The blue one is the original and is a bit smaller, probably because it’s been washed a few times and I probably used a smaller hook. Made it long before Ravelry days so I didn’t keep any records. Gotta love Ravelry for that alone.

I’m thinking about making a few more in pastel colors for Spring and Easter.
